UKUncuts Oxford Street 15/01/2011 { 25 images } Created 16 Jan 2011

The momentum behind the UKuncut movement continued to gather pace with another round of protests along Oxford Street. The targets of the protest continue to be Vodafone ( £6bn of tax avoided following an agreement with the UK Govt), BHS and Top Shop ( part of Sir Philip Green's Arcadia Group which is channelling profits through Green's wife in Monaco) and Boots ( now held through Swiss group therefore avoiding UK tax).
Although the numbers were quite small, the group did have the effect of closing the entrance to the stores for a brief period causing disruption to trade. The message was heard loud and clear by the Oxford Street shoppers and over time the trickle effect of the continued emphasis on this particular outrage will enter the wider population's psyche.
